The Director, Game Presentation is responsible for the production and development of all Detroit Pistons home games and Pistons ancillary productions. Working in collaboration with the video board producer and corporate partners' staff, your job will be to coordinate, schedule, and script the live show. Responsibilities for this role also include managing game night production staff including the public address announcer, Timeout Coordinator, hosts, arena DJ, and entertainment team managers. In the office, you’ll work with the Director, Programming and Production in the creation of elements to be used on game night, coordinate the Mascot program, and handle the day-to-day operations of the game night crew.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Serve as game day/event director; writing & producing scripts for all Pistons team home games and live events
  • Develop game day communication channels required to achieve successful results (i.e., pregame production meeting & pregame game night staff meeting to review game script & game duties)
  • Conceptualize, develop, & facilitate the implementation of the creative programming related to all in-arena entertainment (e.g. Hooper, Pistons Dancers, Pistons Extreme Team, Pistons Drumline, Pistons Jit Team, contests, DJ’s, music, etc.)
  • Drive the creative development of the Pistons Entertainment Teams on every level (e.g. auditions, hiring process, budgeting, scheduling, media day, routine concepts, website design, uniforms, supplies, etc.)
  • Ideate, develop, & oversee partnership inventory within game presentation & special events to help go above and beyond expectations
  • Booking and scheduling all talent for the National Anthem, half-times, in-game entertainment & events
  • Collaborate with CSR, group sales & other department needs to ensure individual departmental needs
  • Work closely with brand & marketing to help bring their vision come to life encompassing the brand pillars & establishing an identity that resonates with our fan base across all sectors
  • Cross-collaboration and lean-in for the Motor City Cruise G-league affiliate
  • Handle internal relationships with vendors, facility, & affiliates
  • Be responsible for all administrative requirements including budget, payroll, & contracts


What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in game presentation with a sports team or similar entertainment field
  • Attention to detail and excellent organization skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and highly adaptable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Proficiency in Shoflo preferred
  • Positive, upbeat attitude, that can lead and connect with a diverse population!
