Concacaf serves as the governing body of football in this part of the world. POSITION PURPOSE:

The Communications Supervisor will play a key role in a fast-paced and dynamic communications department. The position holder will work as a "communications generalist" with a range of day-to-day football communications, public relations, editorial, and media operations responsibilities. These responsibilities include drafting press releases and communications materials, creating daily media reviews, supporting the department's PR and editorial efforts, and delivering media operations and services for Concacaf events and competitions. This role will include regular engagement with several Concacaf Departments, media, and Concacaf Member Associations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise the production and delivery of daily media reviews.
  • Support communications requirements for Concacaf PR activities and events.
  • Draft and translate media releases, advisories, statements, internal and external football communications, briefing documents, and social media posts.
  • Day-to-day administration of the Confederation's football editorial group, calendar, freelance writers, and photography agencies.
  • Support the planning and delivery of high-quality media services and operations at all Concacaf events and competitions. Act as media officer, becoming the main point of contact between Concacaf Media, teams, and media.
  • Support the creation of internal and stakeholder focused communications materials.
  • Other communications responsibilities as required.


SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree; ideally in communications, journalism, or related field.
  • Ideal candidate will have a minimum 3-4 years working in communications or a related field.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and with the ability to prioritize are essential.
  • Experience writing press releases and reports will be considered a major plus.
  • Experience in media operations is considered a major plus.
  • Experience working in professional sports is not essential but will be considered a plus.
  • A knowledge of and passion for football and women's sports is a major plus.
  • Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communications skills is essential (shortlisted candidates may be required to undertake a written exercise).
  • High level proficiency in one other Concacaf language (Spanish, French or Dutch) will be considered a major plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) is required.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Team player, professional, positive attitude, pride in work product.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while working as both part of a team as well as independently.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information is critical and professionalism in dealing with others both inside and outside of the confederation is a must.
  • Candidates must have the flexibility to travel nationally and internationally to perform their duties. Approximate travel requirement: 50%.

Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules including game nights to reflect the business needs of the company.
