Overview

Columbus Crew is searching for an energetic and passionate individual to support our Soccer Operations group in the role of Manager, Team Operations Crew 2. As a member of the Soccer Operations department within Columbus Crew, you will provide comprehensive administrative, travel, logistical and operational support for the Crew 2 team as it prepares to enter its second season. This role will also include connecting with the Academy, First Team and building administrative staff to ensure streamlined operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all elements of Crew 2 team logistics and scheduling including but not limited to:
    • Assisting in the planning and execution of team travel
    • Helping to organize preseason and team practice schedules
    • Organizing the reporting of all team related expenses for each trip and preseason
    • Planning & execution of all team travel including league
    • Assist and be of service to all team operation departments while in travel with the team; equipment, medical, coaching, administrative
    • All annual team scheduling
  • Responsible for all team roster administration including online platforms, team communication and contact strategy
  • Responsible for league administration and relations that include but not limited to rosters, games, fees registration, operational and competition guidelines
  • Work with the Academy, First Team and building administrative staff to ensure streamlined operations and collaborative communications between each group.
  • Work with the commercial and operations departments on game operations requirements for the Crew 2 home fixtures
  • Coordinate with the VP, Soccer Administration & Operations, and General Manager, Crew 2 on the submission of the Crew 2 budget and subsequent tracking of all team and staff expenses
  • Assist the General Manager, Crew 2 on any administrative, planning and logistical requirements
  • Respond to public and internal inquiries in an efficient and timely manner
  • Assist with day to day administration of database, correspondences, mailings and inquiries
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and business plan development of the Crew 2 Team
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times; maintain confidentiality, take pride in the organization, its people and the role
  • Establish and build strong professional relationships with a wide array of individuals within the industry
  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • Sport Management or related business degree preferred
  • Excellent in administrative skills and proficient in MS Office
  • Previous experience in designing strategic plans, presentations for organizations
  • A second language would be considered an asset
  • An ongoing awareness and responsiveness to client satisfaction
  • Ability to think quickly and act with urgency attention to detail
  • A creative self-starter, driven by results and alert to change
  • Proven to perform well under pressure; manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Previous experience handling budgets and expense reports an asset
  • On-call availability with the flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Excellent knowledge of Columbus and its surroundings
