2024 Summer Marketing Internship

Overview

The intern will assist the Marketing Department through contributions to the marketing, creative & ticket sales strategy. Interns will gain unique experiences related to marketing & ticket sales strategy, advertising & creative services, game night promotions, and collegiate marketing.

Duties and tasks:

• Contribute to the marketing and execution of key Marketing & Fan Engagement platforms including but not limited to Student Rush and the CBJ Bar Network
• Aid in the organization’s fan acquisition strategy through executions that drive data collection
• Assist in coordination of marketing and promotional activities
• Assist the Fan Engagement coordinator in executing Blue Jackets offseason events and activations
• Research initiatives across various leagues regarding promotions, gameday presentation and offseason events
• Work along-side marketing and fan engagement team in the planning of key game night promotions including theme nights, giveaways, and ticket packages
• Receive exposure to the internal creative process, distribution of advertising materials, strategies, and overall goals for various ticket promotions, marketing campaigns, and other team initiatives

Learning Objectives:

• Craft sophisticated marketing plans from research to concept, tactic development & implementation, execution & measurement
• Demonstrate strategies to connect with various demographics including college students, millennials, and families

Intern Benefits:

• 15-20 intern hours available each week in-office
• Internship timeline – May– August

Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in college, sophomore or above preferred, sports management, marketing, business, or related major is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• High attention to details
• Ability to address, adapt to, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Able and willing to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be available during weekends and holidays
• Valid driver’s license required
