Position Summary

Responsible for Colorado Rapids Academy Operations management. The Colorado Rapids Academy Office Manager is charged with using his or her experience, training and best judgement to ensure all aspects of the Academy run in an efficient, organized and cost-effective manner.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Manage Academy-wide communication including weekly updates, travel and event schedules and the sharing of league communications!
  • Manage all registration activities for the Academy, including but not limited to general Academy registration, league registration and special event registration.
  • Manage Academy player records – including up to date individual files and player database.
  • Manage & update MLS mandated paperwork including MLS Homegrown Player List
  • Manage the organization and execution of Academy events such as Orientation/Media Day, College Signing Day and player evaluations.
  • Manage Colorado Rapids Academy uniform & equipment orders, inventory and associated invoicing.
  • Manage the booking of Academy Travel in accordance with KSE Travel Policy. Discretion to determine best travel itinerary prioritizing player welfare within budget guidelines.
  • Support Academy travel as needed – function as player chaperone & coordinate player transportation and meals.
  • Develop and build training field needs in collaboration with the Academy Director. Use judgement and discretion to determine optimal field schedule from a player development, facilities and cost perspective. Serve as the primary contact for field reservations with DSGP and other venues.
  • Manage Referee bookings & payment for games as necessary.
  • Serve as the primary Academy contract with KSE accounting including the submission of regular monitoring and internal budget reporting, check requests and related budget related activity.
  • Manage Colorado Rapids Academy Social Media Channels on Rapids Website, Twitter & Instagram. Use best judgement to develop content that promotes the Colorado rapids and related entities.

  • Manage Game Day Operations for all Academy home fixtures. Responsible for collaborating with DSGP field operations and Academy Medical department to ensure competition environments are safe and appropriately prepared for competition.
  • Supervise Academy intern program.

Performance Requirements/Skills

  • Individual must be able to demonstrate a high level of experience or training in operational management preferably in the field of soccer operations.
  • Individual must demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and exhibit proper ethical behavior.
  • Individual must demonstrate good judgement and the ability to use their discretion to ensure Academy operations support player development and the objectives of Colorado Rapids and KSE.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Must possess the ability to adapt to unpredictable circumstances and handle a highly demanding work environment.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task effectively.
  • Knowledge of professional sports team operations, public relations, and/or sponsor relations is required.

Education/Experience

  • A degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Minimum 3+ years professional experience within sports administration/operations.
  • Previous experience with high school, collegiate or professional soccer team is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Teams
  • Experience with GOT Soccer Registration Platform preferred.
  • Experience with Twitter & Instagram social media accounts

Compensation

  • Base Salary Range $56,485

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Outdoor and office work environment. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and stretching. Regular lifting of files or field equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl up to 2/3 of time. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Requires mobility enough to travel. Moderate to loud noise and varying weather conditions.
