Chicago Fire Football Club is a Major League Soccer team that was founded in 1997. The Club returned to Soldier Field as well as opened a new 50,000 square foot business office in the heart of the city. With tremendous growth and expansion, the Club is laying the foundation for an ambitious vision that will transform the Club in the coming years.

Position Overview:

The Chicago Fire are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Mascot Assistant within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This individual will work by Sparky’s side in handling Sparky at home matches and appearances in the community, helping with video and social media content and having a potential as serving as a back-up for appearances, as needed. This role will require working evening and weekend hours as dictated by Sparky’s appearance calendar of events and Match days.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Sparky at various community events, ensuring a memorable and engaging experience for attendees
  • Contribute to the creation and management of video and social media content, enhancing Sparky’s presence and interaction with fans
  • Support Sparky on match days by helping with fan interactions, skits, t-shirt tosses and more
  • Acquire skills and knowledge from the Mascot Specialist to potentially step in as a backup performer when necessary, ensuring continuity in Sparky’s appearances
  • Completion of other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • Reliable transportation to travel Greater Chicago is a must
  • Valid Driver’s License and the ability to drive a company vehicle
  • Willingness to learn
  • Exceptional communication (oral & written) skills
  • High energy, positive attitude with a creative and outgoing personality
  • Commitment to teamwork, as well as individual responsibility
  • Detail oriented, highly motivated, organized, with an ability to multi-task, be flexible and passionate about working in sports
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, including all home games (or other work events) that fall on nights, weekends, and/or holidays


Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Mascot experience preferred, but open to no experience
  • Previous experience in Sports & Sports entertainment
  • Videography and editing skills are a plus
