About the Role
This is a key leadership role within the Academy Performance Support Team with a focus on leading the physiotherapy team and through an exciting period of change. The role will be responsible for building an innovative approach to rehabilitation working collaboratively with the performance support team to develop a philosophy that is unrivalled in youth development. Ultimately, the team will support the development of robust, adaptable and athletic players and implement effective strategies to reduce injury risk and maximize player development time.
A few Key Responsibilities include;
Support the HOPS with the formulation and implementation of a strategic vision for the academy performance support team.
Develop close working relationships across the performance support team to ensure a collaborative, complimentary and cohesive delivery to players.
Build and implement a comprehensive philosophy for rehabilitation and injury prevention.
Within performance therapies, create shared language and process for enhanced communication: dissemination and understanding of information. Support effective communication with key management staff.
Lead and line manage, Physiotherapists and agreed consultants. Create a team that has autonomy, collectively contributes and has opportunity to show and develop mastery.
Build competence, integrity and consistency in the Performance Therapies programme
Qualifications & Experience:
Undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy
Post graduate degree in S&C, Physiotherapy or Rehab (Desirable)
Member of the MCSP and have an active HPCP registration
Extensive experience working within high performance sport, with specific experience in youth development
Previous leadership experience and can demonstrate delivering positive change
Experience working with team based sports (ideally football) and be able to display a strong understanding of the physical and skill demands of the sport
Display a keen interest in youth athletic development and have an understanding of the unique challenges of growth & maturation and working with adolescent’s.
