JOB TITLE: PDP Performance Analyst
DEPARTMENT: Academy Performance Analysis
JOB FUNCTION: Lead a high quality and proactive video and data analysis insights programme for
the Academy PDP teams to support the coaches in the individual football development of our U21 &
U18 players on and off the pitch.
LOCATION: Cobham (Plus travel to domestic and international locations)
CONTRACT: Permanent (40 hours any 5.5 of 7)


PLAY YOUR PART (Main Responsibilities):
o Provide detailed technical and tactical reviews of training and match performance.
o Proactively provide insights on player and team development using accessible data sources.
o Pre-match: Support coaches in the preparation of tactical workshops, analysis previews and match-day presentations including opposition analysis.
o Lead on the matchday analysis provision for all U21 home and away fixtures, including managing the match-day performance analysis team.
o Manage, lead and collaborate with our Academy Player Development Analyst to provide individual insights to coaches and players.
o Post-match: Support the team and individual review of games using video and data resources in collaboration with coaching staff.
o Player performance management: support the logistics and management of ‘case study reviews’
o Provide regular player dossier reports for senior Club staff to support the tracking of individual player development.
o Work with Academy analysts to develop educational resources for coaches and players to support them in engaging with analysis content.
o Maintain and organise age group analysis video libraries and databases.

• Please note key measurables on how the candidate would demonstrate success in the role.
• Provide actionable insights to support coaches in developing players across the PDP age group.
• Provide senior club staff with regular and consistent reporting on team and player development.
• Ensuring all Academy coaches and players have access to the relevant video and data resources.
• Providing consistent proactive support to the Lead Academy Analyst to innovate and develop analysis processes using cutting edge software and hardware.


PROUD TO BE CHELSEA (Person Specification):
Qualifications:
• Essential to hold a undergraduate degree in Performance Analysis or in a Sports related subject.
• Desirable to have relevant football coaching or analysis qualifications.
• Desirable to have Drone Pilot License.
Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years working as a Performance Analyst in an elite sporting environment.
Skills and Behaviours:
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent visualisation and presentation skills.
• Excellent knowledge of using video software’s e.g. HUDL Sportscode & Studio, Angles
• Excellent football understanding with the ability to communicate clearly with coaches and players using available analysis recourses.
• Excellent ability to be able to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Good understanding of how to utilise and manipulate large data sets and use softwares such as PowerBI and SQL
• Willingness to be flexible with working hours in line with team schedule.
