JOB TITLE: Senior Football Development and Events Officer
DEPARTMENT: International Football Development
JOB FUNCTION: To support and lead a range of football programmes, project and events.
LOCATION: Place of work will be Cobham with frequent travel throughout the year.
CONTRACT: 35hrs per week, normally 5 of 7 days per week (This will vary when travelling).

This role will include extensive travel, annually, peak periods are April to November. Trips can last between 1 and 8 weeks at a time, this will include activities sometimes being delivered at weekends and during the evening, so a high degree of flexible is required with this role. Staff will require a fixed UK address and support regional UK activities when in the UK with our office base being Cobham.

PLAY YOUR PART (Main Responsibilities:
The senior development officer will support the management team, with selected operational tasks, taking on responsibility to lead on a range of international programmes.
Core responsibilities will include leading the visiting group/team programmes, pitch events, and selected partner experiences both in the UK and in international locations.
Supporting logistics, all forms of communication with external parties, training staff, creation of syllabuses, presentations, operational booklets and ensuring all compliance process are implemented and followed are essential components to this role.
As a senior coach you will support planning and lead a range of football coaching programmes globally. Activities will include delivery of club programmes overseas, leading on pitch day events and UK team coaching experiences residential programme where the role will also require you to act as a chaperone and head coach for selected groups.
Actively coaching and developing a range of soccer camps throughout the year will also require regular travel to deliver programmes from between 1 and 8 weeks in duration.
Whilst leading events you will also need to manage staff and evaluate coaching delivery of the programmes, continually feeding back to ensure all staff implement and follow the curriculum, and adhere to the set policies and procedures to uphold best practice as well as to safeguarding the participants and staff involved in the programmes.
Developing professional and positive relationships with multiple stakeholders, including partners and staff is imperative to the success of this role. Efficiency in managing communication, logistics and problem solving all key qualities needed to aid this role.
As a Senior Development Officer you will be responsibility for uphold standards and feedback on programme delivery sharing ideas, new concepts to aid improvement the programme.
Financially this officer will be responsible to helping drive new business when opportunities arise. Management of trip budgets and expenses will also be a requirement of the role.
On going CPD and attendance to training will be a requirement of this role.

Qualifications:
Essential:
FA UEFA B License coaching certificate (or equivalent),
Valid FA Emergency First Aid and FA Safeguarding Children certificate
Coach education qualification / Teaching, or Sports Science / Studies, or related degree
Right to work in the European Union (passport or equivalent working rights from an EU country).

Coaching Experience:
At least 2000hrs coaching experience in a community development programme, with boys and girls of all abilities from 3 to 18 years.
At least 2000hrs experience of coaching and managing and team and players between 8 and 18 years old in a centre of excellence or academy environment would be essential.
Experience of working with international players and coaches, (both English and non-English speaking) from different cultural backgrounds is required.
Coach education and mentoring experience would be advantageous.

Business Experience:
Relevant experience of leading and developing business opportunities in the football industry.
Extensive experience of managing and motivating a team of coaching staff.
Experience of managing developing working relationships with key stakeholders.
Experience of managing teams and residential programme would be advantageous.
Experience of event management and problem solving in a pressured environment.

Business Skills:
Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential. This should include an ability to speak publicly and present to large groups of players and parents.
Computer literate and able to develop clear reports and power point presentations.
Self-motivated to work to deadlines as well as remain calm under pressure.
Excellent organisation skills, with an ability to maximize personal/team performance.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to manage and influence towards a positive outcome.
