POSITION OVERVIEW

The Executive Entrance Security Officer will greet and direct members, guests, and executive staff as they enter the Spectrum Center. You will provide exceptional customer service and assistance to all executive staff and guests entering the Executive Entrance. You will perform various administrative tasks and security duties as needed. During Spectrum Center renovations the Executive Entrance Officer will work in rotation with the Building Security team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Screen all employees, guests, visitors, and clients: visitors will walk through metal detector
  • Ensure that guests sign in on Lobby Guard visitor management system, if Lobby Guard is down, the visitor will sign the paper log; alert appropriate staff member when their guest has arrived
  • Use facial recognition system and x-ray screening machine
  • Utilize Punch Alert feature when necessary
  • Implement and uphold integrity of the facility and the event
  • Implement policies and procedures throughout the facility daily
  • Help implement NBA security guidelines
  • Assist with the orderly evacuation of building when necessary: in the event of an alarm, facilitate employees exiting the arena via stairs; once facility has been cleared, officer will communicate via walkie-talkie with Security Manager until facility is deemed safe to return
  • Call the Security Console to unsecure and secure the Executive Entrance doors each morning when arriving, and each evening before leaving
  • Accept deliveries - Sign for any packages that may be delivered for Arena/team employees and use the Staff Directory/e-mail to alert staff
  • Hold packages for pick up - Have anyone coming to pick up a package present a valid photo ID and sign the delivery log before giving them said package
  • Keep Two-way Radio charged and tuned to the Hornets Security channel to communicate with fellow security officers when needed
  • Monitor traffic within the arena - stop unknown guests roaming the facility without proper ID or unescorted and escort them from facility; call appropriate parties if necessary to confirm if the guest should be in the arena.
  • Wear uniform issued to you by the security department
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years security experience desired
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to different situations
  • Able to pass background check
