Reports to: Head Performance Specialist - Crown Legacy

Status: Intern (Non-Exempt)

Duration: 2024 Season (January 28 – November 14)

Position Summary

The sports performance intern will assist in all areas of strength and conditioning and sports science/human performance. Duties include monitoring player readiness and wellness, individual / group coaching, on-field and gym setup and breakdown, and GPS / data management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist head performance specialist managing player readiness and wellness via daily reporting and weekly testing.
• Manage GPS devices before, during, and after training, assisting head performance specialist with daily and weekly data management.
• Assist pre-training activation with opportunity to earn more responsibility.
• Assist warm-ups and individual sessions with opportunity to earn more responsibility.
• Assist post-training lifts and recovery sessions with large responsibility on weight room floor.
• Matchday roles and responsibilities are the same or similar to daily tasks and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Required: post-graduate degree in sports performance or related field OR undergraduate degree in sports performance with 2+ years of experience coaching college or higher athletes.
• Preferred: strength and conditioning or sports science certification (ex. CSCS / CPSS) and familiarity with load management and data management.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This job operates primarily in office setting and outside on-field sometimes during inclement weather.

• This role frequently uses physical labor including lifting, moving, squatting, etc, must be able to lift and carry up to 60+lbs
• Must be able to work in non-traditional settings, and work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work all Crown Legacy FC home matches.
• Ability to remain standing/walking for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to climb stairs, bend, lift, carry, reach, and stoop as necessary.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, and endure weather conditions, including rain, wind, high and low temperatures, etc.
• Ability to remain sitting for up to 8 hours at a desk and computer.
• Must be able to write, type and use phone system.
