Position Summary
The Director, Community Engagement assists in the growth and impact of Charlotte Football Club through community-driven relationships and youth-soccer initiatives. The role will serve as a department leader with many cross-functional projects in partnership with other CLTFC and TSE leaders.

Primary Responsibilities
General
• Develop and implement strategies to engage the community in existing and new programs that positively impact the region and encourage engagement across several key metrics that contribute to increasing access to the game and growing the Club’s fan base.
• Strategize community engagement programming and events that produce a year-round activation calendar across the Carolinas.
• Manage inbound requests and general correspondences with fans and nonprofit organizations in response to partnership opportunities or financial support inquiries.
• Represent the club by working with Major League Soccer to align with and execute league-specific campaigns.
• Oversee a camps & clinics business, in partnership with the program manager, to deliver on annual revenue targets.
• Maintain a regular cadence of communication with Carolina Panthers, TSE and Dave & Nicole Tepper Foundation counterparts to identify multi-property alignment on initiatives and events.
• Engage and represent Charlotte FC in major community-wide city, county and state philanthropic discussions and initiatives.

Tactical
• Maintain an up-to-date awareness of MLS and industry trends, statistics and strategies.
• Act as liaison among staff, including the Communications, Community, Marketing, Partnership, Ticketing and Technical teams to ensure community-focused projects are being highlighted and communicated on a regular basis.
• Identify Club leaders and players that can help amplify the community engagement messaging through local outlets and resources.
• Lead the integration of community engagement strategies and programs in the development of new business opportunities.
• Assist in directing agencies and vendors through various projects; assure adherence to deadlines.
• Manage the departmental budget and revenues associated with camps and clinics across the Carolinas.
• Establish a consistent reporting structure to account for programming KPIs.
• Deliver a Community Impact Report annually outlining the accomplishments each season.
• Work with external FC Charities counterparts to manage funding for various projects and Initiatives.
• Prepare bi-annual FC Charities reports to the Dave & Nicole Tepper Foundation.

Qualifications, Skills and Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business administration, communications, or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience working in community engagement and with developing and executing community programs.
• 5+ years in a management or leadership role, leading, motivating, and developing a team.
• Knowledge of soccer and the surrounding community is preferred.
• Must have a valid US Driver’s license
• Must pass pre-employment screens.

Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment and outside in a stadium facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Local travel to events will be required. This position typically works approximately 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to work flexible, non-traditional hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be able to work in all Charlotte FC home matches.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to remain sitting for up to 8 hours at a desk and computer.
• Ability to remain standing/walking for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to climb stairs.
