Job Responsibilities:
- Manage NHL Awareness Initiatives, including Hockey Fights Cancer, Mental Health, Pride and Gender Equality, along with other Community initiatives.
- Oversee community drives including toy, military, book, pet supplies and prescription take back, etc.
- Manage in-kind donation request process
- Assist with planning and executing all Carolina Hurricanes Foundation fundraisers- Canes 5K, Canes Bash, Golf Event, and the Alumni Game
- Assist with other community relations outreach efforts including but not limited to hospital & other player visits, Community Days, Grant recipient visits and Community partner communications.
- Coordinate player charity suites and any other charitable/donated suites
- Manage and grow the Hurricanes Community ticket donation program
- Help fulfill Hurricanes Foundation auction items and Foundation event fulfillments.
- Maintain and coordinate community awareness in-game table opportunities
- Coordinate organization’s involvement with local charity events, i.e. walks/runs
- Aid in Carolina Hurricanes Foundation game-night activations . i.e. Check presentations, Post game meet & greets, etc.
- Other Foundation & community duties as assigned.
Experience
- 1-3 years of relative experience in community relations, community-based programs, nonprofit work, or event management; experience in the sports & entertainment industry strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must possess strong attention to detail.
- Must have an upbeat, positive, outgoing attitude and outlook on work and your position with the organization
- Must be able to work well under pressure with tight/competing deadlines.
- Passionate, reliable, and well-organized professional with ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others, establish a rapport and build strong interpersonal relationships, and a team-first mentality.

- Availability and willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends as well as games and events as necessary.
- Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Must pass a criminal background check
