THE POSITION

Help CSEC and their charitable arm, the Calgary Flames Foundation, provide active opportunities to schools and students by joining a team that will administer sports programming offerings in schools through the CGY Crew. The CGY Crew is a group of individuals that teach/play floor hockey and flag football in Calgary schools. A CGY Crew member is responsible for working with administrators in schools to provide the highest level of instruction in hockey and football that engages students, promotes fun and teamwork, and enhances their knowledge of and appreciation for the sport of hockey and football. This position will manage this team of people and work with schools to promote, organize and administer the program.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Hiring and managing a team of part-time staff that go into schools to teach and play flag football and ball hockey.
  • Create content and lesson planning for the sports program hosted by CSEC.
  • Engage educators on a regular basis on sales, program influences and feedback.
  • Program building focused on administration and execution in classroom settings for students grades 1-9.
  • Draft and create program plans and materials for schools and students.
  • Coordinate all legal and administrative requirements including but not limited to; waivers, insurance, policy papers, contracts etc.
  • Program promotions and marketing.
  • Program sales.
  • Administration of HR requirements for part-time staff members (the CGY Crew).
  • Act as a brand ambassador by promoting available school programs and sports programs offered by CSEC and the Calgary Flames Foundation using traditional and innovative mediums and channels.

THE INDIVIDUAL

The ideal candidate will have the following background;

  • Must possess strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude with an ability to create an environment of excitement and fun.
  • Previous experience working with students, grassroots sports and schools in an asset.
  • Police check and vulnerable section check required.
  • Must have access to a vehicle as travel around the City is required.
