Sr. Graphic Designer

Dept: Marketing

Position Reports To: Sr. Director of Brand Strategy & Advertising

This is a full-time, exempt position. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Paid medical; Dental, Vision; 401k, Pension; most meals included.

General Description:

The Sr. Graphic Designer, in collaboration with the branding and advertising team, will be responsible for the creative development of graphics to support Ravens design needs across the organization, including both internal and fan-facing communication.

Projects will include ticket and event advertisements, stadium and event signage, collateral materials, promotional items, logo and identity development, publications and digital marketing assets.

The designer will also collaborate and help execute annual brand campaigns and oversee a high volume of tasks from concept to final completion, managing the needs and requirements of both key stakeholders and external vendors.

The designer will be required to stay current on trends in design, advertising and sports media to maintain the Ravens brand as a leader in the field.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Design Projects

  • Conceptualize, create and deliver design solutions to fulfill a wide variety of requests from across the organization, including all business units
  • Help execute marketing campaigns for brand, ticketing, media, marketing and event initiatives that could include print, outdoor, in-stadium, email, social, web, mobile, apparel and experiential activations
  • Create logos and/or identity kits for new initiatives
  • Adhere to and communicate brand guidelines to internal staff and partners, which may include the review of logo use
  • Work with internal departments to align design themes across communication channels
  • Work with production vendors to manage print and fabrication jobs
  • Work with stakeholders to complete final projects, stay within deadlines, ensure satisfaction and evaluate overall success
  • Maintain organized files to allow for efficient edits and updates on reoccurring programs


Additional Duties

  • Be available on gameday to assist with graphic needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 7-10 years of experience in graphic design with time spent in a sports or entertainment related field
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience working with printers to facilitate the delivery of printed materials, production of giveaway items or other fabrication
  • Experience and understanding of photography to provide creative instruction to photographers
  • Must possess strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks and contributors, setting project goals and deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities
  • Must be able to work well within a team and adhere to brand and style guides
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and provide creative solutions when obstacles occur

Requisite Abilities and/or Skills:

  • Creative ambition and a desire to work to create the best product
  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, able to take initiative and take ownership of projects
  • General marketing experience and understanding of marketing concepts and goals
  • Effective communication skills and ability to present ideas to support design choices
  • Strong typographic skillset
  • Writing/editing/proofreading skills, a plus
  • Passion for sports, a plus
