ATLANTA BRAVES SPRING TRAINING FACILITY EVENT STAFF POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

Grapefruit League Seasonal Staff 2024

Bartenders: Bartenders are responsible for maintaining the bar at the Braves new restaurant in right field. General bartender duties include preparing drinks for customers, restocking on a daily basis, assist host/hostess with duties as needed. Bartenders to follow set schedule provided by Restaurant Manager. 21+

Bat Boys: Bat boys are responsible for assisting the clubhouse attendant with any clubhouse related duties (polishing cleats, vacuuming, making dugout/bullpen coolers, setting up dugouts and bullpens prior to game time, breaking down dugouts and bullpens after games, etc.. Primary duties include dragging bats, working in bullpen, shagging foul balls, etc..

Cooks: Line cooks are the main cooks and do 80% to 90% of all the cooking in the restaurant kitchen. Will operate all restaurant related equipment and machinery in the kitchen including but not limited to fryers, grills, cutters, etc.. Will fill orders on a timely basis, make sure all food served is cooked properly and guarantees presentation is correct prior to order leaving kitchen. Line cooks will follow schedule provided by Food and Beverage Director.

Customer Service Representative: Guest Relations Representatives must have strong interpersonal skills and provide excellent customer service. Must be attentive to guests’ needs, have full knowledge of all policies, services, and facility locations. Qualifications: Must be able to stand for a minimum of three to four hours at a time, must be able to work in inclement weather, and must report to work two hours prior to game time and work game delays and extra innings if applicable. Staff members must be able to project an approachable, professional attitude at all times (attentiveness, gestures, tone of voice, appropriate language).

Event Security Staff: Event Security Staff are responsible for enforcing all rules, regulations, policies and ordinances of Atlanta Braves Spring Training Facility, City of North Port, and the State of Florida. These positions include security guards and door guards. Reporting time is two hours prior to game time. Security staff remains for one hour after the game ends, or less, pending size of crowd or how quickly crowd leaves the facility. Event Security staff may also be asked to work non-game days.

Grounds Crew: Grounds crew staff will assist Head Groundskeeper with mowing, edging, weeding, mulching, etc.. around playing surface and perimeter of the facility. Must be an outdoors person, have a “green thumb” and adapt well to the heat of the summer. Grounds crew staff will follow schedule provided by Head Groundskeeper.

Hospitality Attendants: Staff will assist with the game day operations on the hospitality arena of Atlanta Braves Spring Training Facility Stadium. Duties include but are not limited to food/beverage prep and setup/presentation, restocking of food/beverage presentation, assisting hospitality areas holders with access to their party area, assisting fans with problems that occur during the games, and helping, as needed, with pre-game activities

Merchandise Store Attendants: Merchandise store attendants will assist Merchandise Director in operating the two novelty stores located at the new facility. Will greet customers, show customers gift items, sell customers gift items, operate cash register and balance daily, bag/box up sale items, restock shelves, some light lifting required. Merchandise Store Attendants will follow schedule provided by Merchandise Director. Merchandise staff may also be asked to work non-game days.

Money Room Staff: Money audit staff will sort, count, balance, record and create deposits for revenue take in during a game/event. Must have previous accounting experience and or degree, bank teller and or management experience, etc.. Must be able to balance on a nightly basis and pass background check. Must be able work late.

Press Box/AV Staff: Press box/AV staff works with home and visiting radio announcers, pa announcer, official scorer, scoreboard operators, video board operators, etc.. Press box attendant will phone in inning updates to league statistician, provide media guide assistance as needed, etc..

Program Sellers- Program sellers’ welcome fans and sell programs to attendees. Must be outgoing and welcoming.

Phone Operator:Switchboard operators must be polite and courteous to all callers at all times. Operators must be able to listen attentively to callers/guests, discern their questions/concerns and provide clear and concise information/direction in response. Reporting time for games would be two hours prior to game time. Operators are required to remain at the switchboard for at least one hour after the conclusion of the game. Operators will also have set schedules and reporting times for non-game days, which would include weekends and holidays.

Promotions & Entertainment: Staff members must exhibit good customer service at game booths, operate equipment at desired levels and ensure it is working properly. Must always maintain appearance of area at all times, stock inventory, responsible for cash/credit transactions, and help to maintain orderly lines. Assist with all promotional item giveaways.

Ticket Sellers: Ticket Sellers will sell game tickets to patrons at the live gate ticket windows. Ticket Sellers will report direct to Ticket Manager/Asst Ticket Manager upon arrival, be provided with ticket bank and will immediately go on sale with tickets still available through the Ticket Master system.

Ticket Taker: Ticket Takers must be courteous and knowledgeable. The primary responsibility of this position is to collect a valid ticket from each guest who enters Atlanta Braves Spring Training Facility Stadium.

Usher: An Usher acts as the host to all guests during their visit to Atlanta Braves Spring Training Facility Stadium. Each usher will be assigned a specific seating section in Atlanta Braves Spring Training Facility Stadium and is responsible for making sure guests are seated in their correct location. It is important that each Usher try to anticipate guests' problems and never avoid or ignore problems. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and have excellent communication skills, must be able to work in inclement weather.

Wait Staff: Restaurant & In Seat wait staff to serve as the waiters and waitresses for LECOM Club or Left Field Lounge. Must possess strong customer service skills, strong communication skills, have strong written skills, etc.. Restaurant wait staff will take food/drink orders from patrons, serve the orders previously taken, provide bill at conclusion of dining experience, etc.. Must be at least 18 years of age, previous wait staff/restaurant experience preferred, must maintain neat appearance at all times and perform under high stress levels and potentially volatile situations.

Warehouse- employees will assist in the warehouse, food & beverage and maintenance as needed, assists in, receiving, transfers and general maintenance. Involves heavy lifting and intensive physical labor
