The Media & Communications Seasonal Assistant supports the Media & Communications efforts of the Anaheim Ducks under the direction of the Senior Media & Communications Manager. The role assists the department in driving strategic messaging and supporting programs that positively impact the organization, players, and management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in strategic communications plans to generate favorable coverage of the hockey club, community initiatives, players, and management
  • Support the department with writing, editing, and distribution of media materials, including media guide, game notes, press releases, media alerts, and fact sheets
  • Assist with the coordination and operation of media events, campaigns, and press conferences
  • Track, monitor, categorize and share media coverage and daily press clippings
  • Set up and maintain the press box and press lounge at Honda Center
  • Dissemination of media updates throughout game nights
  • Assist in collecting audio/video and transcribing and distributing post-game press conferences and quotes
  • Interaction and fulfillment of on-site media requests
  • Credential execution and distribution
  • Statistical research projects and roster compilation
  • Maintain and update media contact lists (print, online, and broadcast)
  • Continually work with the Digital Media department to proof content, releases, etc.
  • Support communications and marketing efforts of self-promoted events, including lead generation, pitch ideas, and cross-promotional opportunities
  • Conduct research and planning for special projects as assigned
  • Support department in all administrative needs and assist the Media & Communications staff as requested
  • Maintain the AAM and Ducks culture that attracts, retains, and motivates quality personnel
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, self-motivated and creative
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time, detail-oriented, and work well under pressure
  • Knowledge of hockey and NHL landscape desired
  • Flexible schedule; able to attend all home games, work nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Education - Bachelor's Degree

Experience Required - 0-1 Year
