West Ham United Football Club are currently recruiting for a Digital Designer. The digital Designer’s main responsibility will be to Design and produce high-quality digital content for the club's website, social media, and other digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the media and marketing teams to create engaging and on-brand
digital campaigns.
- Collaborate with the web development team to ensure the design is translated into
functional webpages.
- Take responsibility for the visual identity of campaigns, ensuring consistency across
all media channels.
- Deliver projects on time and within budget, ensuring that all designs meet the brief
requirements.
Education/qualifications/experience
Experience: Demonstrable years of professional experience.
Bachelor's Degree: Most mid-level digital designers hold a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Interactive Design, Web Design, or a related field.
Knowledge:
Design Principles: This includes understanding concepts like balance, contrast, unity, and emphasis which are critical to creating effective designs.
Color Theory: Understanding how to use color effectively, including concepts like complementary and analogous colors, and the emotional impact of different colors.
Typography: Recognizing the importance of fonts, how they affect readability, and how they can be used to communicate a particular mood or message.
Composition: Understanding how to arrange elements within a design to create a compelling and aesthetically pleasing result.
Skills and Abilities:
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, etc.), Sketch, Figma, and other design and prototyping tools.
HTML & CSS: While not always necessary, many digital designers benefit from having a basic understanding of coding to help bridge the gap between design and development.
UX/UI Principles: Understanding user experience and user interface design principles can be crucial for those designing for web and mobile platforms.
Being confident in handling projects and campaigns
Be able to work with employee’s across the board and build relationships
