The positions purpose is to play a key role in the Club’s Player Wellbeing team with the aim that each player in the squad is in such a state of flourishing mental health that they are able to realise their abilities and potential. The Wellbeing Executive will play a major part in the development and operation of a good wellbeing practice within the first-team environment that will assist in players being able to cope with the everyday stresses of work and domestic life. This support will extend to the player’s partner and families and will focus on various elements of wellbeing; cultural, community, environmental, financial, physical, psychological and spiritual.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assessing and supporting players and their families with their mental health and wellbeing, undertaking interviews to identify areas where they may wish to see change and security of mind.

  • Formulating specific resulting wellbeing plans for player/families.

  • Providing relevant follow-up information and signposting of services.

  • Ensuring players and their families have access to do more of the activities that matter to them, whilst also helping to connected them to other player families, the Club and the wider community.

  • Helping to build an educational platform so that overseas arrivals into the Club may quickly understand and adapt to local and UK culture.

  • Working in conjunction with Club departments and external agencies to ensure high standard of care provision.

  • Developing close professional relationships, becoming a key point of contact and providing a highly responsive and holistic level of care.

  • Assisting in ensuring a smooth transition for young players from Academy structure into the first-team environment.

  • Helping to raise awareness of Player Wellbeing within the squad and throughout the Club

  • Keeping a record of interactions, interventions and progress and achievement of agreed wellbeing plans.

  • Maintaining highest levels of confidentiality, tact and respect.

SAFEGUARDING

Fulham Football Club acknowledges that everyone has a responsibility for the wellbeing and safety of children, young people and adults at risk who are under the Club’s care or utilising the Club’s facilities.

As part of Fulham Football Club’s commitment to providing a safe environment for children and adults at risk the Club

requires all staff in child, young person and ‘adult at risk’ facing roles:

• To be clear about the clubs responsibilities when running activities for these groups;

• Will have read and understood the suite of safeguarding policies including safeguarding children policy, adults at risk

policy, anti-bullying policy, whistleblowing and equality policy;

• Understand and promote staff and players code of conduct;

• Will understand how to refer a concern;

• To be consistent role models;

• To complete the Fulham safer Working Practice Workshop as part of induction and the FA Safeguarding Children

workshop; and

• To monitor repeated incidents of poor behaviour and liaise with their DSO or Head of Safeguarding.
