Job Purpose:
Oversee the Academy scouting and recruitment department. To Identify potential Academy targets through research and established contacts.

Key Responsibilities:
Recruit: Oversee on all recruitment procedures and scouting activities/events in order to add high potential players to our ‘Talent Database’ and/or attain trials for target players within the Academy in line with WHU protocols using ISF Scout7 system.
Scout: To attend weekly matches within our catchment area for both grassroots and professional Clubs to closely monitor and report on target players. Co-ordinate & retain all the scouts fixture lists on a weekly basis.
Manage: Effectively co-ordinate and lead on the Academy players away on international duty, to include collating feedback and liaising closely with our lead scout in Northern Ireland. Work closely with our full-time recruitment managers.
Data: Provide data that can be used to benchmark and relate the current performance of all Academy squads.
Management: Hold monthly meetings with the recruitment team to discuss targets and reflect on previous months fixtures. Compile a data base of potential targets across all phases.
Self-Development: Hold and attend CPD events for your department throughout the season and keep up to date with current trends.
Network: Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts within Clubs in our catchment area including Sporting Directors, Academy Managers, coaches, agents, and other key stakeholders. Build a strong working relationship with our 1st team recruitment department.
Safeguarding & Compliance: To always place the well-being, welfare and safety of each young person in your care at the forefront of every Academy activity and to ensure all other relevant procedures and protocols are effectively followed. To ensure the Youth Development Rules and all other internal protocols are always complied with to the highest standard.
AMT: Attend and contribute to the monthly Academy Management Team meetings, sharing information from the recruitment department. Attend and contribute to all loan management team meetings.

Safe to Operate Responsibilities:
1. Staff must evidence a commitment to the safety and welfare of children, young people and adults at risk regardless of their age, gender, language, religion, ethnic background or sexual identity and ensure the safety and protection of all children, young people and adults at risk taking part in any activity arranged by or in the name of the Club.
2. t is a requirement for staff to follow the Club’s Safeguarding reporting procedures to report without delay, allegations of abuse, poor practice or which is or may, impact on the welfare of a child, young person or adult at risk. After contacting and taking guidance from the Safeguarding Team, staff must use the Club’s Child Protection Online Management System (CPOMS) to record the concern within 24 hours unless directed to do otherwise.
3. Ensure implementation of the clubs health & safety, safeguarding, welfare and equality policies to create a safe working environment for all;
Compliance Responsibilities:
1. To engage in the necessary CPD and professional qualifications to further your expertise (ensuring all Premier League and FA stipulations are adhered to).
2. Perform duties with due regard to club policies and procedures and legislative requirements at all times;
3. Ensure working practices are compliant with relevant legislation and data protection legislation and/or general data protection regulations (GDPR) requirements;
Ensure, where relevant, that all performance data is captured in a timely manner onto the Performance Management Application (PMA).
