Senior Systems Engineer

The Washington Commanders team is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer. Qualified candidates will have experience and strong knowledge of managing storage and backup solutions along with a history of helping organizations achieve and maintain a secure and compliant environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Support all aspects of server, storage and enterprise application configuration, Active Directory, maintenance, licensing and troubleshooting

  • Oversee systems controlling spam, viruses and trusted sites (FireEye, Arctic Wolf, Crowd Strike, and Firepower)

  • Produce and present documentation, training, and standard operating procedures

  • Work with teammates on design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of various in-house tools and develop solutions/strategies as new problems/requirements arise

  • Work with Technical Support team on computer images, device management and integration of apple products

  • Take lead role in disaster recovery, business continuity, audits & compliance (PCI, PHI, PII, Hipaa),

  • Oversee systems controlling spam, viruses, threat detection and web/content filtering (FireEye, Arctic Wolf, Crowd Strike, and Firepower)

  • Assists the IT team in providing technical support to the enterprise

  • Develop and execute system conversion, migration, implementation, and upgrade plans

  • Lead systems projects with various Departments across the organization

  • Manage relationships with systems contractors and vendors

  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of a 4-year bachelorโ€™s degree or 5 years IT experience at multiple enterprises.

  • Expert knowledge of VMware, vCenter and ESX

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Server platforms and technologies including Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, SQL Server, 2008-2019 IIS, DNS, and DHCP

  • Extensive background with installation, configuration and maintenance of monitoring tools such as SCOM, SCCM, or other.

  • Strong background with HPE server and storage technologies.

  • Excellent communication (written, oral, and interpersonal) skills to technical and non-technical audience

  • Strong network documentation skills (Technical writing and Visio)

  • Strong working knowledge with certificate services i.e. SSL, UC, PKI Infrastructure, local and third party certificate authorities

  • Strong project management skills

  • Familiarity with Apache web platform

  • Possess high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountability for area of responsibility and related results

  • Must be able to work at FedExField in Landover, MD or the OrthoVirginia Training Center at Commanders Park in Ashburn, VA based on workload

  • Participate in day-of-game and after-hours support schedules as well as standard business hours (M-F 8:30-5:30)
