General Maintenance Technician - Washington Commanders

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains a friendly, efficient, and positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers, anticipative of and responsive to customer needs.
  • Checks, services, cleans, and replaces filters in all A/C air handling and heating units and documents the same.
  • Cleans and maintains grills, ducts, and shaft ways in A/C, ventilating, and exhaust systems.
  • Understands and demonstrates knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration codes and practices.
  • Performs on-call duties, as they are scheduled, and maintains communication status when on-call.
  • Completes preventative maintenance work orders as well as customers work request work orders.
  • Responds to any emergency situation as required and is responsible for snow removal as assigned.
  • Maintains critical inventory needed to keep operations running; maintains and accounts for tools and supplies used.
  • Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts, able to perform basic electrical work.
  • Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment.
  • General interior maintenance
  • Minor plumbing repairs, including valves, faucets, flushometers, experience using small and medium sized snake/auger preferred.
  • Completes special tasks that include but are not limited to; painting, locksmith work, stadium services requests, and general maintenance as assigned.
  • This position requires the employee to be on call for after-hours emergencies.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
  • Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
  • Complies with all policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Documents work performance and materials procurement as directed.
  • Must be present for all special events and games.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state driverโ€™s license.
  • Completion of an applicable technical training program is desirable, have a minimum of one (3) years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical.
  • Must have ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs., use ladders up to 30 ft, and possess mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Position requires frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving.
  • Position requires excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Candidate will be provided with tools required to perform assigned work scope.


Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 1-2 years' experience in facility maintenance position.
  • Previous experience in operating the following equipment: Genie Lift, Forklift, JLG Boom-lift, Scissor-lifts as well as other motorized lifting equipment is preferred.

  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Must provide exceptional customer service.
  • Must be able to effectively work with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication required.
  • Must be available for on-call, after-hours, and weekend support in a 24/7 environment.


Computer Skills

  • Operate standard office equipment and personal computer(s) using Outlook, MS Windows, Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.


Other Qualifications

  • Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
  • Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state, or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility.
