The Washington Commanders are hiring an Accounting/Finance Intern (Summer) who will be responsible for performing and learning varied accounting/finance functions. Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to clerical support, general accounting/finance procedures, and special projects.

Major duties and responsibilities:

Data entry and analyzation
Assist with month-end reconciliations
Assist in T&E analysis and employee policy adherence
Work w/ FP&A on monthly financial reporting and forecasting
Assist in tracking status of Capex projects
Support department with various ad-hoc projects
Learn about varied accounting and finance activities

Qualifications:

Accounting or Finance Major
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal
Above average computer skills including Microsoft Excel
Proven experience to appropriately work with, and around, confidential information is necessary
Ability to work independently or as part of a team and ability to take direction is necessary
Prior experience in an office environment preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

Familiarity with accounting/financial software
Knowledge Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus
Solid understanding of general accounting principles
Advanced Excel skills required
Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, etc)
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
Effective communicator both verbally and in writing
Strong administrative and organization skills with attention to detail and follow-up required
