The Utah Jazz and the Utah Hockey Club are looking for Broadcast Assistants for the 2023-24 NBA and NHL season. Work includes radio studio production and statistical work for Utah Radio/TV broadcasts as well as potential to work with visiting Radio/TV. No previous experience is necessary, but all applicants must have serious interest in a career in broadcasting. The Broadcast Assistants have a great opportunity to get their foot in the door and experience the real-life dynamics of sports broadcasting. You will work on both the NBA and the NHL broadcasts during the season.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Protect the reputation of the company
Support production pieces including highlight packages and in game packages for both Utah Jazz and Utah Hockey Club
Work as a statistician during all Jazz home games and Utah Hockey Club home games
Assist in covering shoot-arounds (skate arounds) and practices
Produce post game summary podcast for both Utah Jazz and Utah Hockey Club
Prepare highlight and sound bite production for the radio stations shows.

Be available to work from September 22nd to May 1st

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18 years of age
Currently attending a 4-year college or university working towards a related degree
Striving towards a career in the Broadcasting Field
Must be able to work all Jazz and Utah Hockey club home and away games
Needs to be energetic and engaging
Must be able to take direction and possess a willingness to learn
Must be flexible and willing to help where needed
Must be able to handle highly stressful situations in a fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.
This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
