The Utah Jazz are looking for a Data Warehouse Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team. The ideal candidate has experience extracting data from multiple places, inserting it into a Snowflake data warehouse and transforming it into a format that can be used by various stakeholders. In this role, you’ll be supporting multiple areas of the business including Ticketing, Corporate Partnerships and Finance.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain, develop and automate processes to extract data from source systems and load into a Snowflake data warehouse
  • Work with business stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
  • Develop SQL scripts to transform data into user friendly formats
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of data at all times
  • Protect the reputation of the company

  • Accept other duties, as assigned

COMPETENCIES:

  • Communication-Must be able to communicates effectively with technical and non technical colleagues
  • Manages Complexity-Should be adept and managing complexity and ambiguity to achieve results
  • Tech Savvy-Familiarity with current technologies applicable to job needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1 - 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent education
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL
  • Proficient in Python
  • Familiarity with other programming languages as needed
  • Comfortable working with structured and unstructured data (CSV, text, JSON, etc)
  • Airflow and Snowflake experience preferred but, not required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
