The Business Development Specialist will play a vital role in sourcing leads and developing relationships for the Business Development team of the Utah Jazz & Smith Entertainment Group. This position will play a key role in generating new business by introducing partnership and premium seating offerings to potential new clients that will ultimately drive profitable revenue growth.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate revenue pipeline by building meaningful relationships and setting introductory meetings with key decision-makers.
  • Execute sales activities such as calls, emails, and LinkedIn messages to generate interest in Partnerships and Premium Seating with the Utah Jazz.
  • Handle data in CRM that enables our sales and marketing teams to have clean, accurate reporting information.
  • Assist in building proposals with our Account Executives on their highest priority accounts.
  • Collaborate with the revenue analytics team to identify industries and key players for corporate partnerships and premium seating opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Account Executives to track, progress, and report back to the Business Development team on the progress of potential leads and events that would contribute to the success of relationships for Business Development.
  • Assist in marketing-related tasks such as driving interest in sales events, sales campaigns, etc.
  • Develop new and innovative lead gen strategies and assist in researching and building local, regional, and national lead lists for corporate partners and premium seating buyers.
  • Exhibit a team-centric mindset in working with key internal departments such as Marketing, Analytics, Partnership Success, Premium Experience and Membership Experience.
  • Exemplify and demonstrate an attitude of inclusion, diversity, transparency, and continuous personal development.
  • Support the Business Development department in all other tasks and needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Consistently meet/exceed sales quotas within specified time frames.
  • A hard-working, self-motivated person that strives to build and maintain relationships.
  • Creative and assertive communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent training and experience
  • Preferred 1-3 years of experience in sales or marketing
  • Ability to work a non-traditional schedule as sports and entertainment events may require, including extended days and hours, holidays, and weekends
  • Proficient in customer relationship management systems, Salesforce, Microsoft Office applications and Google workspace


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
