Work with the finance team preparing and reviewing financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations, managing cash flow projections, and ensuring a timely close process. This role includes overseeing hockey and arena revenues/expenses and collaborating with various business units to employ strategic initiatives and grow company profits.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supplemental management reports
- Prepare and review journal entries and accompanying account reconciliations
- Manage cash flow/working capital projections for hockey and arena entities
- Be proactive in strategic initiatives with department heads to grow profits
- Responsible for timely close process
- Manage performance of team and mentor interns and other junior finance team members
- Oversee the accounting for hockey and arena revenues/expenses
- Collaborate within the finance team as well as cross-functionally with various business units
- Build extensive knowledge of entity P&L and league/industry finance
- Record payroll journal entries and manage cost centers for accurate reporting
- Ensure debt covenant compliance and produce any required documentation
- Be audit lead to complete multiple audits throughout the year
- Responsible for all NHL league reporting and other requirements
- Run annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Work in office ~4 days per week

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred Masterโs degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred
- Great communication skills
- Organized and detail oriented
- Prefer 5+ years experience in progressive roles in industry or public accounting
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screening
