The St. Louis Blues are seeking an intern to assist with community and fan development within the community relations department. The intern will work closely with community relations department to enhance skills with real world experience. Tasks may include projects focused on fan engagement, youth hockey, community outreach, and auctions. The intern will learn practical application of fan engagement, data tracking, customer service and communication, event planning and execution as well as other community related skills.
This is a part-time, paid position working 20-29 hours per week
September-April, 2024-25 Blues season
Rate of pay is $12.30/hr
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
β’ Respond to community requests/questions through emails and phone calls
β’ Coordinate charitable donation program, maintain donation database, respond to donation requests, and assist in all aspects of giving donations
β’ Assist with planning and execution of outreach activities and special events (Blues for Kids Casino Night and possible others)
β’ Attend and assist in coordinating community appearances (school visits, hospital visits, etc.)
β’ Assist during game nights (experiences, activations in Blues for Kids section, etc.) and postgame meet & greets
β’ Assist Community Relations or other departments with related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
β’ Currently enrolled college level student in the St. Louis area
β’ Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required
β’ Interest in professional sports focusing on fan development, youth programming, and non-profit fields
β’ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
β’ Strong ethical standards and a strong sense of confidentiality
β’ Must be available to work daytime, nights, holidays, and weekends
β’ Must have reliable transportation
Physical Abilities:
β’ Must be able to lift heavy objects
β’ Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time
