Description:
The St. Louis Blues, Enterprise Center, and Stifel Theatre are seeking a Communications Intern for the 2024-25 NHL season. The intern will work closely with the Communications teams supporting the business and hockey operations of the organizations to develop skills with real- world experience. Tasks may include projects focused on writing, research, media monitoring and reporting, internal communications, information management, and event operations. The intern will learn practical application of communications and event marketing functions within the dynamic sports and entertainment ecosystem, including media relations operations related to hockey games, concerts, and other events hosted at our two venues.
This is a part-time, paid position working 25-29 hours per week.
Rate of pay is $12.30/hr.
Internship Dates: July 5, 2024 - June 27, 2025 (dates flexible based on graduation and/or securing full-time employment)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create daily news clip summaries
  • Update player bios for game notes
  • Distribute game notes and stats on gameday mornings
  • Research media targets and develop media lists
  • Helping run/distribute credentials to security and media
  • Run stats pre-game, intermission, post-game
  • Help with press box upkeep
  • Assist with any other gameday needs of the Communications staff
  • Log/track St. Louis Blues media coverage
  • Maintain charity database and youth hockey calendar
  • Maintain up-to-date venue signage (interior and exterior)
  • Assist marketing staff with escorting photographers during concerts at both venues as needed
  • Assist with monthly venue calendar
  • Research support for artist gift program
  • Help manage retail social channels
  • Assist on content creation for venue social channels
  • Other duties as assigned by the department managers


Qualifications:

  • Current or recently enrolled college-level student, or significant practical experience
  • Desire to gain experience in professional sports, hospitality, venue management, with an emphasis in Communications or Marketing
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong ethical standards and sense of confidentiality
  • Availability to work daytime, evening, and weekend hours as needed
  • Minimum of 25 hours per week including office hours and events
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite of software required
  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools preferred
