The IT Intern will gain hands-on experience performing a variety of roles within a fast paced, behind-the-scenes environment, with the chance to have a direct impact on professional soccer in Kansas City. Sporting Kansas City’s collaborative environment full of learning opportunities is designed to help all interns evolve their capabilities, challenge their strengths, and reach their fullest potential.

Sporting Kansas City internships allow students or recent graduates to hold a temporary position within the organization, with emphasis on training and gathering practical experience in their field of specialization by doing a variety of tasks as assigned by their Team Lead.

All SKC interns must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree or must have recently achieved their Bachelor’s Degree.

Essential Functions

  • Information Technology (IT) interns support the IT department by providing technical assistance, maintaining computer systems, and configuring hardware and software.
  • Troubleshooting: Resolving technical issues, such as internet and network access issues, and determining causes of computer, software, or network malfunctions
  • Maintenance: Installing and maintaining computer systems, including software and hardware on desktops and laptops, and helping maintain the company's network infrastructure
  • Support: Providing technical support to employees, responding to help desk tickets, and meeting with staff to provide one-on-one assistance
  • Training: Providing training to staff on software and hardware use
  • Research: Researching new technologies and tools that could benefit the team
  • Documentation: Documenting and maintaining hardware, software, and other technology systems
  • Always represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
  • Attend all Sporting Kansas City home games, as well as non-soccer related events.

Match Day Responsibilities

  • Act as a representative of Sporting Kansas City at all home matches, engaging with guests and working to create Magic Moments for all fans.
  • Support the IT & AV team by providing technical assistance to Fans, Staff and other event attendees as needed.

Skills and Experience

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at a four-year, accredited college institution or enrolled in an accredited graduate program
  • Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. based on a 4.0 scale.
  • Interest and experience in competitive sports preferred.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write the English language.
