Position: Strength & Conditioning Director/ Head Strength Coach

Department: Baseball Operations

Reports To: Senior Director, Athletic Training

Status: Full-Time: Exempt

Position Summary:

The San Francisco Giants are seeking a Strength & Conditioning Director to join the Baseball Operations department. This position will oversee the Strength & Conditioning program for the Major League Team both in and off-season. In addition, he/she will manage staff and help develop programing for Minor League players. This individual must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with other departments including practitioners.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Strength & Conditioning program for the Major League
  • Manage Minor League Strength & Conditioning staff and help them develop programming for all Minor League Players including Latin American program.
  • Collaborate with integrated team of health care professionals (ATC’s, PT’s, S&C, Nutrition, Sports Science, Mental Health, Mental Skills).
  • Build effective relationships with coaching staff, front office, analytical staff, and players.
  • Design and develop Strength & Conditioning programs for players both in and off-
  • Develop and implement testing protocols and strength assessments in spring training and in season.
  • Work collaboratively with Sports Science to interpret data and understand how we can implement changes as needed from data.
  • Organize and facilitate Major League Spring Training Strength & Conditioning needs for all
  • Ensure that weight room environments are safe and clean across all SFG affiliates.
  • Comply with all rules and regulations set by Major League
  • Oversee and perform basic sprint mechanics evaluation and

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Major League Baseball or other field relevant to
  • Master’s degree preferred in related field.
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
  • Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC).
  • Knowledge of supplements that are NSF certified for our players.
  • CPR/AED
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and planning
  • Excellent teaching and motivational
  • Must be flexible to work irregular hours, nights, and weekends with

At the San Francisco Giants, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $125,000 to $150,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors the San Francisco Giants consider relevant to the hiring decision.
