JOB TITLE: Accounting Analyst

DEPARTMENT: Finance & Accounting

REPORTS TO: VP Finance & Accounting

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

LOCATION: PPG Paints Arena/Pittsburgh, PA

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The accounting analyst will serve as a key member of the finance and accounting team with the ability to grow professionally with the responsibilities described below. The accounting analyst will be expected to contribute meaningfully towards department and company goals and initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with assigned responsibilities to achieve success in the month-end closing process
  • Record inter-company elimination entries and coordinate any discrepancies with affiliate companies
  • Prepare assigned account reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for the financial statement audits
  • Assist in revenue and expense modeling
  • Prepare box office statements with corresponding NHL reporting and journal entries
  • Premium revenue data collection and journal entries
  • Assist with NHL League Reporting
  • Assist with Credit Facility compliance reporting
  • Support the process needed to accumulate data for tax returns
  • Assist in the accumulation of data and preparation of the annual budget
  • Assist in the accumulation of data and preparation of forecasted results
  • Assist in the implementation and rollout of new FP&A software
  • Assist in financial reporting
  • Analyze and report on actual versus budget reporting
  • Assist with various special projects and ad hoc requests

CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA a plus
  • 3+ years of related operational, FP&A or public accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP knowledge a plus
  • Strong work ethic, reliable and can work well independently
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Solid communication skills and detail oriented
  • Collaborative, but also self-motivated and directed
