A quick summary about the role:

The Events & Engagement Manager plans and executes all aspects of events for the organization.

What the role will do:

  • Develop, coordinate, and execute organizational events as assigned.
  • Collaborate in the planning and execution of all organizational events for departments including the People Team, Global Partnership Sales and Activation, Client Services, Ticket Sales, Social Responsibility and Premium Services.
  • Manage site selection, food and beverage, technical requirements, invitations, photography, talent, staffing, etc. and manage external vendors to plan and execute assigned events
  • Contribute to all creative elements of events, developing new and enhanced experiences for internal and external customers on an annual basis
  • Manage internal requests for other departments as necessary, including audio visual, graphic production, etc.
  • Manage invite lists for events as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation for the planning and execution of signature fundraising events, including the OYMF Open and Orlando Wine Festival & Auction.
  • Manage inventory of wine for the Orlando Wine Festival & Auction, and manage the set-up and distribution of wines for vintner dinners and Festival.
  • Support the department on site for every event with set up, event execution and breakdown
  • Manage and develop Events and Engagement Graduate Associate.
  • Manage and prepare part time staff working onsite at events.
  • Maintain a professional level of communication with all internal and external stakeholders
  • All other duties as assigned.

What the role needs to have:

  • College Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Three to five years of event planning experience required.
  • Prior supervisory and management experience, with growing and developing direct reports preferred.
  • Ability to work all Magic home games plus a select number of non-Magic events. This includes the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills required.
