Title:Player Development Coach

WHAT SETS YOU APART

The Player Development Coach will work with the Head Coach and Technical Staff,in collaboration with the Vice President of Soccer Operations/Sporting Director, primarily responsible for maximizing athlete performancethrough the development of their individual technical skills. They will focus on the evaluation of individual player technical skills, the development and execution of one-on-one and small group training sessions aimed at improving player technique, and providing feedback to address individual strengths and weaknesses, with the goal of maximizing player performance in targeted areas such as finishing, dribbling, or passing. This role will alsolead the development and execution of all return-to-play (RTP) and non-travel individual and small group training sessions. This role will report into the Orlando Pride Head Coach and will coordinate closely with other members of the Technical Staff, including Assistant Coaches, Goalkeeper Coach, and Senior Video Performance Analyst.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work in close collaboration with the Head Coach and Technical Staff to lead the technical development of Pride athletes. This role is a non-traveling role.The responsibilities of the Player Development Coach are to:

  • Collaborate with the Head Coach and Assistant Coaches to ensure alignment with team strategies, playing philosophy, and individual player development goals;
  • Coordinate with the Technical Staffregarding all Player Individual Development Plans (IDPs);
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of each player’s technical abilities, identifying areas for improvement, and developing personalized training plans;
  • Break down complex technical skills into manageable components, creating specific activities and exercises to target those areas;
  • Provide real-time, constructive feedback to players during technical training sessions, highlighting both positive aspects and areas needing refinement;
  • Use video technology to analyze player movements, identify technical strengths and weaknesses, and provide individualized feedback to athletes;
  • Monitor player progress over time through data collection and regular assessments, adjusting training plans and priorities accordingly.
  • Conduct one-on-one and small group training sessions with players, focusing on their specific technical development needs;
  • Lead the development and execution of all return-to-play (RTP) individual and small-group training sessions in accordance with the guidance provided by Club Medical and Performance staff;
  • Lead the development of and execution of all non-travel training sessions in accordance with the priorities set out by the Technical Staff;
  • Provide up-to-date evaluations, training plans, and progress notes for Head Coach, Technical Staff, Sporting Director reference;
  • Abide by all local, state, and federal laws and all applicable National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and Team policies and procedures;
  • Attend all activities/meetings/programs as required by the NWSL; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by the Club.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in elite women’s soccer at the national team, professional, collegiate,and/or youth levels;
  • Experience, familiarity, and network within women’s soccer;
  • Possess U.S. Soccer “B” license or equivalent;
  • SafeSport trained or capable of obtaining SafeSport certification prior to hire;
  • Proven history of developing players;
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Detail-Oriented with excellent organizational and leadership skills;
  • Collaborative management style – advocate of team concepts;
  • Positive influencer, comfortable working in a team-first culture; and
  • Must be able to work long hours, weekends, and some holidays.
