The New York Yankees are seeking a Manager of Stadium Operations to assist in the day-to-day maintenance of Yankee Stadium, the position will ensure events at the Stadium run smoothly in coordination with multiple departments and outside vendors and clients. The ideal candidate will have management, operational and budgetary experience, as well as the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Stadium Facilities in the daily facility management of Yankee Stadium.
- Manage events held at Yankee Stadium, including New York Yankees home games, soccer matches, college football games, concerts, trade shows, and university commencements, to ensure the Stadium and trades workers are prepared and operate efficiently for each event.
- Receive, input, and document invoices for all Stadium Operations and Housekeeping purchases. Prepare, document and monitor the department’s purchase requisitions.
- Assist with managing the department budget, including keeping logs of
f all expenses, as well as generating expense reports for each event/project at Yankee Stadium. - Prepare written overviews for all events at Yankee Stadium and distribute to all relevant event staff.
- Manage the schedules and payroll of Operations support staff and trades workers, including Grounds Crew, Engineers, Ticket Takers, NYPD Paid Detail, and interns using ABI software.
- Identify necessary repairs throughout the Stadium and facilitate walk-throughs and supervise maintenance work conducted by internal staff and outside contractors.
- Manage processes including the documentation of incidents using 24/7 software and preparation of daily reports resulting from same, uniform inventory and distribution, and property storage at external facilities.
- Monitor and track Yankee Stadium’s utility usage and calculate expenses using various metrics to attribute applicable costs.
- Assist on an as-needed basis with activities including handling tarp, setting up traffic barriers, sweeping, and relocating equipment throughout the Stadium.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in operations.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management.
- Flexible work schedule, including working scheduled events at various times including nights, weekends and holidays, and working in all weather conditions in an outdoor stadium environment.
- Competency with Microsoft Excel required.
The salary range for the position is $65,000-$80,000/year, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
