The Carolina Hurricanes are hiring an experienced Video Content Producer with a passion for sports and creativity to join our content team. This role will produce impactful story driven content for the Carolina Hurricanes and Lenovo Center. Reporting to the Senior Creative Director, the Video Content Producer will be a key part of the creative services team within the marketing department. This position supports various departmental and organizational needs through long- and short-form video content for in-game presentation, social media, web, and other storytelling platforms.
Responsibilities
- Shoot, edit, and produce multi-platform video content primarily for the Carolina Hurricanes.
- Contribute to all phases of production, including conceptualization, scripting, planning, lighting, sound, recording, editing, and producing.
- Stay current with new video production techniques and styles to enhance content.
- Work both independently and as part of the creative production team.
- Maintain a production schedule and execute projects on tight deadlines.
- Work all Carolina Hurricanes pre-season, regular-season, and playoff games, as well as team events as needed. This is a year-round role requiring a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Organize and log assets in the media library.
Qualifications
- Degree in Film, Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, and/or relevant work experience
- 1-3 years of experience working in a professional sports environment or equivalent field
- Proven track record of multi-platform video content creation from conceptualization to post production.
- Proficiency in non-linear editing and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.).
- Experience with video production equipment, lighting, and set design (Digital Cinema Cameras, DSLR, lighting, and grip equipment—experience with Sony cameras is a plus).
- Experience working in a live control room setting and familiarity with sports motion design is a plus.
- Knowledge of the NHL/Carolina Hurricanes is a plus.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure with tight, competing deadlines.
- Self-motivated and creative, with a passion for storytelling.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
