Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Learn and implement the organizational hitting philosophy
Design daily practice plans that balance immediate game preparation with the development of foundational skills that translate to sustained success at the highest levels
Utilize various tools and technologies (Ex: Kinatrax, Hawk-Eye, Blast Motion, Trackman) to provide evidence-informed insights to players and monitor progress
Collaborate with multiple departments (Ex: S&C, Athletic Training, Sports Science, Mental Performance) to create holistic, individualized player plans
Create an environment where players are encouraged to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and continuously improve
Required Qualifications:
Experience working with hitters in a professional organization, a collegiate organization, or a facility setting
Ability to throw batting practice, hit fungoes, and generally facilitate a baseball practice
Experience with hitting related technology (Blast, Trackman, HitTrax, high speed video)
Disposition to actively communicate across different disciplines within Player Development
Mindset/desire to learn, especially from those on their own affiliate staff
Spanish fluency OR a desire to learn basic components of the language
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical expertise in a hitting related field such as exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor learning or sports psychology
Experience working with biomechanical information (Kinatrax, Hawk-Eye, 4DMotion/K-Vest)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts for players
