Department: Business Strategy and Intelligence

Job Reports To: Manager, Business Strategy & Analytics

Status: Exempt

Position Overview:

The Business Strategy and Analytics department is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the department and support the Organization’s NHL, Arena, and Sabertooth Sports & Entertainment business units.

The Business Intelligence Analyst will support the overall reporting analytics, and strategy planning capabilities of the Organization with a concentration in increase efficiencies in the areas of ticket sales, premium sales, corporate partnerships, and marketing by directly managing our reporting portfolio, supporting our data warehouse, as well as supporting our CRM System and general commercial research.

The ideal candidate possesses comprehensive data analysis skills, ability to identify trends, and opportunities for business improvement; feeling comfortable in SQL, visualizations, presenting on their findings and working across team departments to deliver actionable insights.

Responsibilities:

Support Business Analytics on a day-to-day basis, including attending meetings,
generating insights, and taking ownership of specific projects including:

o Report Generation

o Data Analysis

o Fan & Market Surveys

o CRM Management Assistance

Develop insightful and timely analysis in support of the organization’s mission, goals, and strategic initiatives.

Work with all facets of the organization to define current and future needs to review, implement, and maintain solutions.

Collaborate with business area stakeholders to identify and track key business metrics.

· Create and maintain standardized reports.

· Grow the scope of responsibility and impact of the analytics team and the overall business intelligence group.

· Develop techniques to identify, extract and analyze data to support business decisions.

· Develop analytical approaches to transform complex data into thoughtful, actionable
insights.

· Analyze revenue data and recommend strategies to drive profitable growth.

· Perform ad-hoc research and/or data entry as needed to support business initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

We are looking for an organized self-starter who can work well across departments. You could be a potential match for this role if you have a strong mix of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree with a consistent track record of professional and personal achievement. Preferred degree concentration: business analytics, finance, statistics, or economics.
  • 1+ years professional experience in a professional sports team environment supporting data warehousing, dashboard and reporting, audience identification or CRM system.
  • Strong Experience in SQL and familiarity with relational databases and data warehouses
  • Experience and knowledge of R or Python a plus
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with data visualization, preferably tableau.
  • Experience with ticketing data, Ticketmaster preferred.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems a plus
  • Must be able to identify problems, their sources, and their potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with strong critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
