SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Successfully pass Pit Road Official Exam as administered.
Maintain proficiency in and knowledge of all pit road rules and penalties.
Implement / apply the appropriate pit road / race procedures in a consistent, timely and professional manner.
Establish and maintain proper communications with the assigned crew chief(s) and / or Race Control as required.
Properly execute and confirm any directive from Race Control.
Perform duties in a timely and authoritative manner while portraying a professional image.
Competent understanding of radio use, procedures and etiquette.
Responsible for securing equipment (e.g. binoculars, watch, flags, radios) for duties assigned and for performing routine checks on same.
Attend meetings and educational seminars.
Approximate travel 90%.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
IMSA License.
OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Customer service, people skills, represent Company. Use of computer is helpful.
Position is safety sensitive and participates in the corporate Substance Abuse Program (SAP).
