The Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to contribute to a winning women’s first team by developing Goalkeeper’s from its youth pathway. This will be achieved by creating the most successful girls’ academy by:

  • Revolutionising the way we nurture and maximise the potential of every Goalkeeper involved in our pathway.
  • Create a world-class environment.
  • Stretch and challenge Goal Keeper’s to maximize potential.


The Role:

  • Design, organise, and execute top-tier training sessions.
  • Strategize and prepare for every match, tailoring plans to meet each goalkeeper's specific requirements.
  • Consistently uphold the Manchester United development and coaching 'Redprint' philosophy.
  • Actively participate in continuous professional development events both internally and externally.
  • Prioritise player welfare and well-being.
  • Develop and implement set play strategies for match days.
  • Foster a constructive and supportive working atmosphere.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments.
  • Maintain strict adherence to the company's safeguarding policy.
  • The role requires flexibility in working hours due to the dynamic nature of the games and training program. On average a typical working week can look like:
    • Monday 2pm-8pm
    • Tuesday 2pm-8pm
    • Wednesday – U21s Fixture
    • Friday 2pm-7pm
    • Saturday 9am-1pm


The Person:

  • Committed to making a positive impact on young people's lives.
  • Diligent, passionate, and dependable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including self-assurance, rapport-building, empathy, emotional intelligence, and approachability.
  • Familiarity with best practices in safeguarding.
  • Proficient in implementing policies and procedures, particularly in health and safety and risk assessments.

Knowledge

  • In-depth understanding of the women's and girls' game.
  • Proficiency in goalkeeping principles.
  • Expertise in set play profiling and taking charge of this aspect during training and match days.

Experience:

  • Proven track record of conducting goalkeeper-specific sessions across various age groups.
  • Previous experience working with elite goalkeepers.

Skills:

  • Ability to motivate and inspire female goalkeepers.
  • Proficiency in delivering professional and high-quality goalkeeper sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Goalkeeping B Licence.
  • Emergency First Aid in Football qualification.
  • Valid Safeguarding Children certificate.
  • FA Youth Modules (Desirable).
