The Media Management Assistant will be responsible for managing a diverse range of media assets in a fast paced media production team. Working with the Post Production Lead, they will implement and maintain post-production workflows and best practices going forward. Tasks will include ingesting, logging/tagging media using metadata, monitoring and managing storage (Servers, Iconik cloud storage etc), transcoding media, sourcing and sharing media on request.

Your Impact
- Media Asset Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse range of media assets in a fast paced media production team. Working with the Post Production Lead, they will implement and maintain post-production workflows and best practices going forward. Tasks will include ingesting, logging/tagging media using metadata, monitoring and managing storage (Servers, Iconik cloud storage etc), transcoding media, sourcing and sharing media on request.
- Team collaboration & workflow alignment: Work alongside Video Editors, Producers and other stakeholders to ensure the whole team are aligned on how we remain organized to ensure assets can be found and interacted with efficiently. Create documentation and training materials when needed to ensure consistency in media management workflows across the team.
- Quality control & regular audits: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure the media team are remaining compliant with established practices and workflows to remain consistent. Collaborate with content creators to resolve any issues and continually strive to improve media processes. Ensure consistency in best practices in media handling, naming conventions and metadata usage.
- Long term media preservation & accessibility: Implement and maintain strategies for the long term preservation of media assets in our archives to ensure that useful assets can be easily found in the future regardless of who created the content.
- Stay informed on industry best practices: Keep up-to-date with evolving industry trends and best practices in the wider media production world, to make sure that we as a department are working as efficiently and effectively as possible. Proactively suggest and implement improvements to ensure that the department operates as efficiently as possible.
What we are looking for
Essential
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Previous experience of managing/organising media assets (Video rushes, Audio, Images, graphics etc).
- Previous experience of using metadata to log media assets.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technology and industry trends.
Desirable
- Knowledge of media asset management systems (Iconik or similar).
- Knowledge of AI-Powered asset management (for example WSC Sports)
- Technical knowledge of video codecs, bitrates, frame rates and other technical specifications.
- Experience of working within the sport media industry.
- Strong interest and knowledge of football, particularly Manchester City.
- Language skills – Spanish, French, Portuguese.
- Degree in Media, Television production or similar.
- Experience with Adobe software, particularly Premiere Pro and Media Encoder.
- Experience of implementing and managing successful media management workflows.
- Basic video editing skills/experience.
