Your Impact

  1. Assist the Head of Editorial and Managing Editors in all daily tasks.
  2. Cover live matches across men, women, EDS and U18s, producing match reports, live blogs, interviews and match galleries. Ability to write accurately under pressure is vital.
  3. Able to provide high quality written copy for web/app, digital magazine and matchday programmes.
  4. Assist with content optimisation, maintaining high standard of website hygiene and best practice in SEO.
  5. Assist Matchday Live team and help drive their news agenda.
  6. Help maintain excellent stats, records and milestones database, which help service video, social and design teams
  7. Create and execute new content ideas, always looking to find innovative strands that challenge our readership.
  8. Lead on sub editing duties for the web and app, ensuring the right content appears in the right place at the right time.
  9. Lead on preserving the hygiene of our official app, especially across all new sections including CITY+ trending, Live & Upcoming and Long Read carousels


What we are looking for

Essential

  • Professional qualification in journalism and at least one year of experience on fast-paced news desk
  • Ability to develop contacts with former Manchester City players/managers/staff.
  • Experience using CMS
  • Excellent knowledge of Manchester City men, women, EDS and U18s

Desirable

  • Full Driving License
