The Lead Coach will ensure agreed key objectives are met for both Manchester City and the Partner by delivering the Club’s footballing philosophy and methodology and by managing the development of the initiative both on and off the pitch.

The role will require an understanding of how Manchester City develop and educate players of all ages and abilities, and coaches, and will require detailed planning, delivery and reviewing across a variety of different programs.

The successful candidate will be required to relocate to the specific territory to fulfil the role and offered a competitive salary and other benefits.

Your Impact

  1. Deliver the Manchester City coaching program, including features relating to individual skills development, team development, Football School initiatives, and tournaments, providing regular feedback to participants, parents, and Partner leadership.
  2. Ensure the quality of the programs is of the highest standard possible adhering to the coaching philosophy, methodology and principles of Manchester City and the Partner’s mission and ethos.
  3. Deliver a Coach Education program for internal staff and external coaches and to manage, mentor and motivate any football coaching support staff.
  4. Produce a clear and coherent plan for the systematic development of football requirements at the Partner program, with clearly identified short, medium, and long-term goals in alignment with the Manchester City Football School curriculum.
  5. Be the key contact relating to all program business (including ongoing reviewing, communication and recommendations to Manchester City, the Partner, and other key stakeholders) and effectively co-manage the relationship between Manchester City and the Partner.
  6. Efficiently manage or engage others where appropriate, the operations, logistics and administration requirements to successfully deliver a professional program.


What we are looking for

Essential

  • Hold a UEFA ‘B’ Coaching License.
  • Up-to-date coaching credentials including emergency first aid, safeguarding and recorded CPD activities from a governing body.
  • An ability to work collaboratively with participants, parents, staff, and the wider community within territory.
  • The ability to create a positive working environment that authentically represents Manchester City and the Partner in the local marketplace.
  • The ability to plan and prepare a project from conception to implementation, including the ability to demonstrate leadership and management skills to ensure the effective development of the initiative.
  • Have experience implementing and developing a football coaching syllabus internationally for all ages including the development of teams.
  • The Lead Coach must have the required skills and attributes to work both independently and as part of a wider team, with a proactive approach to work, strong communication skills, and effective problem-solving abilities.

Desirable

  • FA Youth Coaching Award or education in football development.
  • To have had experience in either coach education or teaching and experience managing the needs of both adults and children.
  • To have experience and awareness within project management
