Senior Coordinator, Club Performance

Overview

The Club Performance Group at Major League Soccer is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and analytical Senior Coordinator. The ideal candidate will possess strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, effective communication capabilities, and the ability to interact directly with senior executives. This role involves managing and supporting multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create and assess benchmarking reports to identify potential case studies and opportunities for improvement across MLS Clubs.
  • Prepare detailed reports for senior League office executives, including the Commissioner.
  • Create materials for the Club Sponsorships team, including creating sponsorship category toolkits, developing a prospecting and lead scoring system, discovering and analyzing new assets, and assisting with valuation modeling.
  • Conduct assessments for the Club Ticketing team, assessing year-over-year trends in ticketing data and deriving insights from qualitative data such as Club surveys.
  • Manage and coordinate Club executive visits to the MLS League office, including creating agendas and liaising with both Club and internal MLS League office executives.
  • Coordinate and attend Club visits to build relationships with Club leadership, assess needs, identify priorities, and ensure effective implementation of recommendations and action plans.
  • Manage agendas and schedules for key department and cross-departmental meetings within the Club Performance Group.
  • Assist in the creation and management of the Club Performance Group Newsletter, developing case studies on successful Club initiatives across various Club business areas and reviewing industry sources for relevant news and insights.
  • Lead the Mark Abbott MLS Club Business Awards process, which requires cross-departmental collaboration and direct interaction with Club executives.
  • Develop programming for key League meetings, including the Monthly Chief Business Officer (“CBO”) Call and CBO Advisory Group, working closely with League and Club executives.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage resources and documents on the Club Performance Group’s MLS Connect Workspace, the League’s intranet website.
  • Foster connections with various sports entities, leagues, and suppliers to discover and exchange effective approaches in sponsorship, ticketing, marketing, and other business domains.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of prior relevant work experience.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in using Generative AI tools.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, if needed.

Desired Skills

  • Prior experience in the sports and / or entertainment industry.
  • Familiarity with the domestic and international soccer industry is desirable.
  • Familiarity with sponsorship, ticketing, marketing, and/or media is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and / or French would be beneficial.

Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary $62,400 - $68,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
