Job Title: Coordinator-Behavioral Science
Job Summary: The Kansas City Royals Baseball Club is seeking a highly motivated and skilled licensed or license-eligible psychologist, professional counselor, or clinical social worker to work with professional baseball players. The ideal applicant will have strong interpersonal skills, acumen, intellectual curiosity, and working knowledge and experience of applying evidenced-based methodologies for improving mental performance on and off the field of play. The applicant must be bilingual in Spanish and English and have experience working with multidisciplinary teams. In addition, the applicant must be a team player and able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
· Individual mental performance work with players and staff within the player development system.
· Implementation of program evaluation metrics for mental performance and player development initiatives.
· Consultation with sports medicine team and front office staff members
· Foster and develop relationships with Spanish speaking mental health assets in cities where Kansas City Royals affiliates are located (i.e., Surprise, AZ; Columbia, SC; Quad Cities, IA; Springdale, AR; and Omaha, NE).
· Ability to improve access to mental healthcare, provide appropriate referrals, and monitor treatment adherence for mental health issues with International, Domestic baseball players, staff members, and families of Royals personnel.
· Management of Therapeutic Use Evaluation (TUE) applications.
· Implementation of proprietary sleep screener and management of related data.
· Co-Management, with other members of Behavioral Science staff, of players on long-term physical rehabilitation

Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift items weighing as much as 25 pounds
· Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of workday
· Must be able to be productive utilizing a computer keyboard and telephone
· Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times
· Must be comfortable walking to navigate the facility to access the office, concourse, etc.
· Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling
