Classification: Full-time /Exempt

The Creative Services Projects Apprentice is responsible for assisting with all content and campaign projects from initiation to completion. Helps to create and maintain timetables to monitor the flow of each project by coordinating the scheduling, processing, tracking and routing of all creative design and editing work. Assists in facilitating work between internal departments and external vendor communication to coordinate efficient and time sensitive creative project processing. Responsible for developing and communicating project schedules and printing estimates, maintaining workflow records, and developing a model for continuous process improvement. This role should also have some design experience and will work in conjunction with the Creatives Services team comprised of Designers, who all serve as creative support functions to internal departments and external partners through the design of forward-thinking creative solutions that maintain the Astros brand and all brands across the Astros company portfolio across multiple mediums.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the Lytho Project Management process for all customer requests (Creative and BPE) throughout the organization (including work routing, archiving tickets/work, timelines, etc.).
  • Assist the Sr. Manager, Graphic & Marketing Projects on large campaigns with multi-faceted approach to fan engagement (e.g., Annual Campaign, All Star Campaign, Postseason Campaign) to ensure optimal cross-dept work structures, lines of responsibility, appropriate risk and stakeholder management, etc.
  • Assist the Sr. Manager, Graphic & Marketing Projects with print vendor relationships through bid process, submission, delivery and install. Gathers and presents printing estimates from multiple vendors with a focus on continual optimization of the process and pricing.
  • Provide creative or alternative solutions to internal clients when needed.
  • Reviews job ticket submission field queries to ensure all needed project information is acquired prior to the start of design.
  • Creates and updates project logs for departmental visibility on a weekly basis.
  • Coordinates projects to creative team based on capacity.
  • Assist the Sr. Manager, Graphic & Marketing Projects in planning and facilitating weekly organizational creative meetings to provide updates regarding the status of all creative projects in the queue.
  • Understand and follow the creative service process, marketing approval process and graphics terminology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graphic design experience is a plus.
  • Team player with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting daily deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate confidently in a clear and concise manner
  • Effectively work with internal and external partners
  • Knowledge of the artistic terminology, development process and working on/with a design team is a plus
  • Fundamental knowledge of database file archiving & project management software – including any of the following but not limited to TeamworkPM, Basecamp and FileMaker Pro.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office – including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Possess a positive demeanor and a desire to learn.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking and communication skills.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including; extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Travel

Rare travel maybe expected in this role.
