Management Accountant

We are seeking a motivated Management Accountant to work within the Finance Team in the delivery of financial activities that include management accounts and financial modelling. The Management Accountant job is a pivotal role, where you will work closely with the Financial Controller & Finance Director on a day-to-day basis. You will be a fully qualified accountant with broad ranging experience and skills to bring to the role. Your time will be split between both Fulham Football Club and the UK trading division of NFL club Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fulham Football Club:

  • Ownership of matchday financials, with regular budget reviews of actuals against forecasts, providing variance analysis to management.
  • Challenge, review and reconciliation of receipts, statements and postings relating to ticketing and hospitality revenues.
  • Business partnering support to all departments, providing explanations for monthly variances against budget.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for commercial departments to provide commercial and financial insights to help drive profitability and growth.
  • Ad-hoc analysis for various requests including liaising with commercial, marketing and ticketing departments.
  • As required, undertake financial modelling, scenario planning, business case preparation and option appraisal to support effective decision making and improve business performance.
  • Providing insight and support using both financial and non-financial data and KPI’s, as well as challenging all departments on performance, future plans and outlook.
  • As required, support in ad-hoc Finance projects to improve processes, drive efficiencies and identify cost savings in areas such as procurement, debtors and creditors.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders and specialists as and where needed
  • Assisting the Financial Controller & Finance Director on ad-hoc reports and analysis

Jacksonville Jaguars:

  • Producing a full set of monthly Management Accounts
  • Leading the annual budgeting and forecasting process whilst supporting budget holders throughout the process
  • Develop and own financial business planning and analysis. Prepare and deliver business performance insight and reporting, including monthly forecasting, commentary, and identification of performance variances, ensuring that it is easily understood and fit for use by the business.
  • Assisting with annual accounts preparation
  • Assisting with tax and VAT preparation
  • Working with the team to identify and roll out process improvements

Person Specification

  • A passion for football and NFL!
  • Alignment and an interest in the Club’s vision and values
  • Qualified in either ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Either:
    • Minimum of 1 years’ experience producing a full set of Management Accounts
    • Minimum of 1 years’ post qualification experience in a profession with transferrable skills (i.e. audit) looking for first move into industry.
  • Highly competent using Microsoft Excel (any financial modelling experience or data analysis/manipulation would be advantageous)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy coupled with the ability to gather both quantitative and qualitative data, analyse and interpret it and communicate conclusions and recommendations in a clear and compelling way.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience in querying and analysing data as well as drawing conclusions on the bigger picture and how that can impact commercial decision making.
  • Proven experience of developing solid relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to present complex financial information to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong drive, self-motivated. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Working to deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent time management skills.
