These are your key tasks:
- Implementation of ETL tasks on various structured, semi-structured and complex datasets
- Supporting Data Scientists in testing, deploying and maintaining pipelines for production environments.
- Implementing processes and systems to monitor and improve data quality.
- Support Data Scientists in implementing research projects.
- Work to drive the area of football analysis forward by implementing football analysis processes in close collaboration with domain experts.
- Collaboration with domain experts to answer football performance questions, or to potentially support expert observations.
- Working in an international team of domain experts, data engineers and data scientists by following agile development practices.

The specific competencies we require for this position are:
- Versatile, innovative, pro-active team player who thinks systematically, is process driven and can remain objective and focused in pressure situations.
- Cultural awareness and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- The ability to write precise, detailed technical specs and documentation.
- An understanding of performance and solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Degree in computer science or a related field, or successfully finished apprenticeship as a software engineer.
- Excellent administration and organizational skills.
- At least two years of experience in software engineering
- Expertise in Python and object-oriented programming.
- Experience in working with sequential event data sets is a plus.
- Experience with Cloud Services (MS Azure) is a plus.
- Fluency in oral and written English. Proficiency in German is an asset.
