Reporting organizationally to the FIFA26 Inc. Senior Stadium Infrastructure & Overlay Manager, the Manager, Overlay will be a key member of the FIFA26 Overlay team, and work in close collaboration with the Venue Design team and Infrastructure team.
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Manager, Overlay for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ include:
· Managing and streamlining the technical requirements from FIFA Functional Areas and facility authorities for implementation in Stadia and Training Sites per Cluster.
· Key interface between Design team, Overlay Planning team, Procurement, and Project Management team per Cluster.
· Maintain clear communication with the stadiums to ensure FIFA delivery timelines inclusive of monitoring schedules for stadium construction / renovation plans, etc.
· Ensuring all FAs requirements are obtained, captured, and processed in design and bill of quantity and financially addressed per Cluster.
· Managing and maintaining Roles & Responsibility matrices per Cluster.
· Project managing the Technical Information flow for all sites within cluster and creating reports and dashboards of site related activities.
· Identify temporary infrastructure related issues and liaise directly with FIFA FAs and Stakeholders during the procurement process.
· Manage the change management directives per the Change Management Committee.
· Validate, re-adjust, and finalize design solutions against site conditions.
· Work with the overlay delivery partner onsite to monitor the execution of the project scope of work, to ensure all requirements are met and all spaces are handed over on time with quality during all phases of the project including the removal/reinstatement phases.
· Provide oversight on overlay contractors' deliverables and act as escalation point for issue resolution.
· Report on progress to senior management on venue’s progress, tracking, issue resolution, etc.
· Work with the overlay delivery and design partners to manage all deliverables required to obtain relevant statutory sign-offs and regulatory code compliance (health and safety, planning, building control, fire engineering, and crowd management) relating to the design, planning and delivery of overlay.
· Bachelor’s or master’s Degree preferably in Engineering, Architecture or other domains.
· Great understanding of the technical complexity of a stadium with additional World Cup needs.
· A minimum of 3 years of Football World Cup Life cycles working or liaising with one or more functional areas as listed above or similar elite sporting event.
· Minimum 5 years or more in infrastructural projects or Overlay/Technical Service roles in Major Events for a Sporting Organization.
· Minimum 3 years or more FIFA World Cup or other similar major Football tournaments experiences.
· Minimum 2 years of managing and leading teams and staff with different backgrounds and skill sets.
· Fluent in English
· Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
· Proficient in MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project)
· Planning software and online collaboration tools: MS Project, Planner, Trello, or other Project Management Tools
· Miro Board, Whiteboard, Figma
· Autodesk applications (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, etc.)
