Maintenance Mechanic

POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform general building maintenance and repairs as well as equipment maintenance and repairs (carts, lifts, forklifts) by means of general maintenance and carpentry skills. Additionally, this role will install, maintain, and repair locks, hardware, and electronic access controls for Coors Field. Assists other engineering personnel as needed. Assists in facilities operations at Coors Field and McGregor Square, as they relate to maintenance mechanic work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining various equipment throughout the facility, including carts, lifts, trucks, etc.
  • Able to perform repairs on concrete and caulking of concrete.
  • Able to repair walls, floors, and ceilings, including ceiling grid and ceiling tile installation.
  • Maintain door hardware inventory and keying for the stadium. Must be able to work on all types of door hardware and make and track key inventory.
  • Perform carpentry, including door and hardware repairs.
  • Maintain and Repair stadium seating.
  • Maintain proper Preventive Maintenance Program and Work Order Request Program records.
  • Will assist other staff in operating and replacing equipment throughout the facility.
  • Set up and clean-up project areas, prepare areas for a project, and inspect completed work for the highest quality.
  • Maintain, clean, and organize work area and workshop.
  • Display quality-conscious work while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisor.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to an accident-free work environment by complying with all equipment and workmanship safety measures.
  • Utilize blueprints, equipment diagrams, and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
  • Assists in other work areas in the department or ballpark as needed or directed by the Assistant Director of Engineering.
  • Assist with Projects, Preventative Maintenance, and Work Orders at McGregor Square as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Expected to exercise independent judgment in times of immediate need or emergencies.
  • Monitor and work with contracted painting contractors at the stadium on maintenance or capital repair projects.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and the ability to order from suppliers.
  • Duties are not specifically limited to the identified areas listed above.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A valid driver’s license is required because you may be required to drive a company vehicle during working hours.
  • Five years of experience in Maintenance or Construction
  • Carpentry skills (Required)
  • Concrete skills for repairs (Required)
  • Welding Skills (Desirable)
  • Masonry Skills (Desirable)
  • Keywatcher System (Desirable)
  • Certification or schooling showing knowledge or repair skills of building equipment (Desirable)
  • Computer Skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, pdf software (Preferred).
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • Working at heights on ladders and lifts as required.
  • Operating equipment used in the building trades – forklifts, lifts, carts, etc.
  • Consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.
  • Professional communication and demeanor.
  • Customer service-oriented and strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Schedule: Must be able to work Mon. through Fri. 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. There may be times when overtime may be required due to project requirements such as special game day duties, special event schedules, concerts, season preparation, emergencies, etc. Advance notice will be given for schedule changes whenever possible.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Move inside the stadium to access doors, filing cabinets, machinery, etc. 90% of the time.
  • Operate hand tools, machinery, a computer, and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer 100% of the time.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service the lights and ceiling fans and replace ceiling tile, 75% of the time.
  • Communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations 100% of the time.
  • Observe details at close range (within a few feet of their work), 50% of the time.
  • Must regularly lift up to 51 pounds, 75% of the time.
  • Push, pull, carry or maneuver items over 51 pounds (with additional manpower or appropriate devices) 75% of the time.
  • Carry and climb ladders, work from heights, work in small crawl spaces, balance, stoop, and kneel 75% of the time.
  • Regular exposure to all weather conditions, both in extreme cold and heat.

SALARY RANGE:

  • Hourly Range of $32-33.50. This is a regular status, full-time position.
  • As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills, and any other factors the Colorado Rockies consider relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
